The Medicine Hat Community Housing Society offers a Social Housing Outreach Program for residents of social housing and those on the waiting list. The program targets assistance to those facing affordable housing difficulties as well as related issues.
The services provided through the Social Housing Outreach Program are tailored to the needs of the program participants. The overall purpose of the program is to help those in need to identify and address the issues in their lives that may be preventing them from being independent of social supports.
By assessing the needs of the program participants, and offering supports and resources that deal effectively with the identified needs, the Outreach Program is able to help the participants overcome roadblocks to independence and “self-sufficiency”.

The Outreach Program is funded by the social housing operating budget and a grant from the Supporting Community Partnerships Initiative of the Government of Canada’s National Homelessness Initiative.
